ABOUT ARC

The concept of ARC was conceived originally by the Founders as a socially oriented project to maintain and improve the health of the growing population of retirees in communities across the globe.

As veteran executives, the Founders are cognizant of the vast resource of expertise available within the community of retirees.

PURPOSE

ARC was developed to proactively harness the hidden resources of the retiree community towards the complementary objectives of:

  • Provide expertise of retirees, which remains in demand by society.
  • Maintain health of retirees with continuous purpose of use of their time.

Meet the Believers

Believers of ARC are accomplished, seasoned executives with successful careers, who wish to reciprocate with contributions to the community.

Anchored with cornerstone values of Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence, the Believers aim to establish the ARC Program as a community to bring together like-minded peers, who, whilst moving towards or past the retirement age, wish to remain vigilant and active as a valuable, contributory resource to the society.

 

Anthony S. AU

Born in Hong Kong, Mr Anthony AU’s career stretches over 40 years in Asia and Canada, across multiple industries, in various functional areas of System Analysis, Financial Planning, Marketing Executive Search and Investments. After 19 years in Executive Search, Mr AU retired from his corporate career in 2002. Shuttling between his residence in Vancouver and Hong Kong, he is currently active in investments in the information technology, medical and health sectors.

James C.Y. YAO

A native of Taiwan, Mr James YAO spent his formative years in the U.S. Mr YAO began his career in Silicon Valley before progressing through various appointments in Beijing, Taipei and Hong Kong, where he amassed close to 30 years of experience in the technology, venture capital and private equity sectors. Mr YAO is currently an independent investor, working closely with various investor groups on investment opportunities across multiple industries with a primary focus on the Greater China region.

Anthony T.T. YUEN

Born in Hong Kong, Mr Anthony YUEN is a seasoned executive with over 40 years of experience in insurance and financial services. In addition to his progressive, senior appointments with various local and international institutions in insurance, financial services, and investment, Mr YUEN is also involved extensively in community services, where he was recognized with many appointments and awards. Mr YUEN is currently the Chairman of a financial group he founded in asset and wealth management.

Dr. Po Chi WU

Dr Po Chi WU comes from a family with generations of of illustrious scholars. His great grand-father was a Hanlin Scholar in the Ching Dynasty. His father, Professor Wu Ta-You, was known as “The Father of Modern Physics in China” in Taiwan. Dr WU is an accomplished, international investor and entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in commerce and investments, having held various positions, including Co-founder, Partner, and President, with multiple venture capital, private equity and investment advisory firms across the Asia Pacific, including China. Apart from commerce, Dr WU is also active in academia and community services. He was appointed to lecturing positions in Universities in Beijing and San Francisco, and held advisory positions to non-profit organizations, including the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and UC Berkeley. Dr WU is currently an Adjunct Professor in both the School of Business and Management and the School of Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

Raymond C.F. TONG, M.D.

Born in Hong Kong, Dr Raymond TONG is a medical professional-turned entrepreneur and investor. His career stretches over 35 years in Canada and across the Asia Pacific. Dr TONG retired from his corporate career in 2008. Since then, he has been active in the operation and investment of companies in the medical and healthcare related industries. At present, he is also an independent Director of two companies in China – the largest bio-pharmaceutical manufacturer and the leading distributor and third-party service provider of medical equipment in the Country.

Willie W.K. CHAN

Born in China, Mr Willie CHAN grew up in Hong Kong, but spent most of his corporate career of over 40 years across many countries in the world. He eventually settled in Singapore shortly after year 2000. Mr CHAN spent 15 years in the food industry in Canada, Hong Kong and China, before moving to Human Resources, Organizational Development & Corporate Governance in the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore. He travelled extensively around the globe in the past decades in support of the reengineering, acquisition, founding, and rejuvenation of established, greenfield and distressed companies. Mr Chan retired in 2014 but continues to support the business and academic communities in Singapore and the region as advisor to the Dean of Business School of the National University of Singapore and executive coach to senior executives.

KENNETH K. P. TSANG

Born and educated in Hong Kong, Mr Kenneth TSANG began his career in the legal profession with the government of Hong Kong, before progressing on to the manufacturing and real estate sectors. While engaged in his professional career, he also served in senior advisory roles with many non-profit and charitable organizations in education, senior care and industry advisory groups. Mr TSANG emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, in 1995, where he continued his active involvement in community service with various factions of the Evangelical Free Church in Canada and North America in education, healthcare for seniors, as well as cultural exchange programs in Canada and the U.S. with China. Since 2006, Mr TSANG also served as a Board member of Trinity Western University, a role he sees as vital in contributing to the development of foundational values in the upcoming generations.

Bethia B.W. YUEN

Ms Bethia YUEN moved to Hong Kong from China in her early childhood. After receiving her special qualification in Medical Records Science in British Columbia, Ms YUEN began her 25-year tenure in the health care system in Canada, and progressed to senior positions with two major hospitals in Victoria and Vancouver. She worked extensively in the design, development, assessment and enhancement of health management information systems. Ms YUEN left her corporate career to establish a consultancy practice to service the private and public sectors within the medical and business communities. In addition, she is the founder of a niche, tour operation, where she plans and leads tours to Israel. Apart from her commercial activities, Ms. YUEN was also involved extensively in not-for-profit organizations and public foundations in Canada, Hong Kong and China.
